Crush Continue Win Streak

The Queen City Crush battled the Springfield Cobras on Tuesday, July 21st. David Salters got his first Crush start and pitched 3 innings. Salters struck out 3 Cobras and allowed no hits, but the Cobras were able to sneak in a run on Salters. 

Tate Winfield was walked to get the Crush on base. Lane Crowden was hit by a pitch and advanced to third on an error. Davis Blair reached base on an error which allowed Winfield to come home. Trent Turner grounded out, but not before Lane Crowden was able to come home and record another run. 

Quinn Price came to relieve Salters and pitched 3 innings. Price pitched 3 innings and allowed only 1 hit and no runs. 

The Crush offense had a hot start, but were not done yet. They came back in the bottom of the fourth with Jacob Stoker's single. Brenden Coffindaffer singled to bring in Stoker. 

In the bottom of the fifth, the Crush offense went to work and Tyler Weiner singled. Crowden was walked and stole second after Weiner stole third. Davis Blair was walked. Turner singled to get 2 RBIs, Winer and Crowden. Turner stole second before Coffindaffer was walked. Tanner Lumley reached base on a fielder's choice that brought in Blair and Turner. 

Shane Poe closed the game on the mound and allowed only 1 hit and 1 run.
