The Queen City Crush played the third game of the series against the Midwest Nationals Tuesday, June 28th.

Tanner Lumley (Fair Grove, MO) started the game at the plate and smashed a double to right field. The Crush bats went silent to end the top of the first clean. Trey Mulholland (Aurora, MO) started on the hill for the Crush. Pitching around some walks, Mulholland ends the inning only allowing one run. The Nationals led 1-0 at the end of the first. Both sides went quiet during the pitching duel for the second and third inning. Lumley led off the fourth inning with a walk followed by an Alec Boldt (North Liberty, IA) single to right field putting two runners on. Three quick outs moved into the bottom of the fourth. Mulholland continued to hold the Nationals and retired the side with no more to the board.

An uneventful top of the fifth for the Crush and the Nationals managed to add five runs as a result of some defensive miscues to extend their lead to 6-0. Ryan Shoulders lead off the top of the sixth with a walk. Two fielder’s choice plays moved the game into the bottom of the sixth. The Nationals score four more in the bottom half and the game ended with the Nationals taking a 10-0 victory.

The Crush will play the last game of the series Thursday, June 30th at 7:30.
